First of all, why Artifact was not released inside Dota 2, with in the future, a Stand Alone both Mobile and PC with the option of Cross Platform Play between Mobile, Dota 2 and the Stand Alone PC version? I see it as if Da Vinci hit his head too hard somewhere and made something weird. The devs were loterally afraid of what could happen.Įveryone sees Artifact as a failure.

When SC was released, the devs were spooked, because in their tests, the speed in which players macroed and microed, was to say, pitful, and paled in comparisson to how fast the eventually pros were doing it. It is AI + Human not working as an RNG of a card game, but as a symbiosis. It is more sci-fi than reality I guess, it would be like chess, a legitimate auto chess so to speak, where players wouls be generals. There would be ways to direct how the units would work in general, similar to an RTS, but would be assisted by the scripts, so the only true way for this to happen is with a very strong bot AI, so a player can reliable control all the heroes at once, and at the same time. After the draft, there is small phase where players assign the lanes and heroes, set pre customized behaviors (agressive, farm oriented), item build and ability build up, and the game starts. You follow similar rules to CM, but it is 1v1.

But enough about me, let's ride this ponei. Sorry for the lackluster title, the reason I never pursuit this is because of the high degree of technical knowledge that I hoped to learn and befriend over the years but who am I kidding.
